Inguinal Hernia

Inguinal Hernia is the bulging of the groin or scrotum which is basically caused when tissue is pushed through weak spot in groin muscle. The bulge may burn or hurt a person during movements or any such other physical activity. This is protrusion of abdominal contents through weak spot in the connective tissue of the inguinal canal in the groin. The sports persons and others who put lot of pressure in the pelvic region are prone to this problem.

Causes of inguinal hernia and your groin pain
Inguinal hernia occurs when the groin gap weakens. A number of factors are responsible for the weakening of groin –coughing, lifting heavy objects, and overexertion in sport. The inguinal canal then weakens or open slightly which facilitates the intestines or peritoneum bulge through the groin. This bugle of groin hernia cause severe pain. the pain sometimes become unbearable. The weakness of groin is also triggered due to overweight, lack of vitamin C, smoking, deficiency of minerals and vitamins that are required for strength connective issue.

The following few reasons can also be responsible for causing hernia in you. Family history of hernia, cystic fibrosis, extra weight, un-descended testicles, chronic cough, chronic constipation, chronic cough, enlarged prostate, straining to have urination or bowel movements are few causes of inguinal hernia or groin pain.

The general signs and symptoms of Hernia are-

    You will suffer from groin and abdominal pain following any sort of physical activity or sport. This pain would get progressively worse.
    The pain in groin increase with sneezing or coughing. You feel the pain when you cough.
    Tremendous pain when you squeeze your legs.
    You feel like a round lump in the scrotum. Sometimes some bulge of scrotum is without any pain.
    To get relief from the symptoms of hernia you may lie down for sometime.

In first technique, the sides of inguinal gap are tied together with sutures. In mesh method a plastic mesh over and under inguinal gap are tapped.
